California, here we come!

We have a new house! We won't move until January, but we were just assigned a house. The house is being remodeled right now so it will have new floors, cabinets and paint when we get there. It's off-base base housing in a gated community in San Pedro. We have a large backyard with plenty of room for two growing boys and rambunctious doggy, but the best part is that our yard has a great view of the ocean. And on a clear day you can even see Catalina from our house! We are so excited we can't stand it! Gone are the South Dakota days of being stuck in the house all winter to avoid the hurricane force winds and frigidly dry air. Don't get me wrong, we have loved our time here and will miss Rapid. It's just going to be wonderful to be in a place where you can be outside all year again. California has always been a favorite place of ours; beaches, desert, forests, real shopping... yes they have it all!
