Happy Birthday Mason!

Mason's 2nd birthday was on Dec 1st, and coincidentally in the middle of our first blizzard of the year. OK, blizzard is an exaggeration... but not by much. We woke to a crystal clear day. And then a few flakes began to swirl around the air, followed by more and more until everything was white. We rented out the neighborhood community center for Mason's party and invited all of our friends and neighbors. We put up our bounce house (yes, "our". Santa brought it a little early) and began to decorate the wide open room. There were as many tables and chairs as we needed and tons of room for the kids to run. But as the set up began, we noticed a rather large problem. The heater was not kicking on. The room was maintaining a cool 47 degrees and we had only 2 hours 'til the party kicked off. No need to worry, we just called the maintanance guy who said he'd be right there. After much waiting, we called back and were told, "Uh, yeah. I got a flat tire, but I don't fix that anyway." Is your jaw on the floor? Ours were! Luckily everyone came with coats, and compared to the 18 degrees outside, it didn't feel too bad. We did have some hot cider and hot pizzas delivered to warm us up. Over all it was a huge success. The heat was the only glitch, and no one really seemed to mind. The kids managed to keep warm with all their bouncing and playing. Most importantly, Mason had the time of his life! And the snow that wouldn't quit was really quite pretty.
